Never Lose Your Freedom

Never Lose Your Freedom

I absolutely love my country and the amazing freedom we enjoy. In my opinion, the United States of America is the greatest country in the world.

It is this pride and love of country is why I was willing to join the U.S. Army and literally, sacrifice everything if that is what happened. I love these United States so much that I still get goose bumps when hearing the National Anthem and patriotic songs. The 4th of July is such a great day and the opportunity to celebrate our independence and the freedom to live the life that we choose to live.

Please take today as an opportunity to reflect on what others have done for us to give us this great life.

I really like this version of the Star Spangled Banner that is performed by Madison Rising.

I know what it took to form the Constitutional Republic that we are able to enjoy. I have seen war and conflict. It is not enjoyable. It is not something to be taken lightly. Unfortunately, military action is sometimes necessary and, to out benefit, our Founding Fathers did what it took to obtain our independence as a nation. This established the foundation to make our country whatever we want it to be.

When observing the actions of my fellow citizens, I do not see the pride that we once had. It has been almost 15 years since the U.S. was attacked in the worst possible way. Following the terrorist attacks on our country, there was a dynamic surge of Americans who were proud and wanted to show the world that America is a great nation. Where has that gone? I see people leaving their hats on during the National Anthem. There are people who think that letting other nations overwhelm us with immigrants is a great idea.

What happened to America? What can be done to regain the national pride we once had in our country?

WE, the people hold the key to our freedom.

There is infinite freedom available for those who are willing to do what it takes. I do not see a scenario where armed conflict is necessary. We do not need another civil war. If you truly would like to never lose your freedom, stand up and make a difference.

While not my thing, I believe that the legalization of marijuana for recreational use is the greatest example of the power that the individual states posses to create the state they want to be. There is a precedent set to allow individual states to do what they want. The federal government decided that marijuana is illegal and yet there is no enforcement of federal law occurring in these states.

Making the conscious decision to fight for what you believe in and to maintain your freedom is the only way that we will be able to maintain the life that we enjoy. Start at the local level and work your way up. Find your representatives and find out what they stand for and how they are representing you. The grassroots efforts of everyday Americans is what will make the difference.

Will you Never Lose Your Freedom?

More than our freedom here and now, what freedom will you enjoy in eternity?  Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice and paved the way for you to enjoy ultimate freedom and spend eternity in heaven.

John 3:16 (New Living Translation)
16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 10:9-13 (New Living Translation)
9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 11 As the scripture tells us, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced." 12 Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him. 13 For "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

What Would You Do?

There is a named storm, Arthur, bearing down on the east coast of the United States and a mandatory evacuation has been ordered for some areas while voluntary evacuations have been ordered for other areas. This is not ideal by any means, especially because it is forecasted to make land fall today which would make it the first hurricane to ever hit the United States on Independence Day. Facing a hurricane, or any disaster, reminds us that things happen around us all the time and it reiterates the necessity to prepare for such events constantly. These threats are real and show up on God’s time, not ours. It is not possible to predict such disasters on any type of long term calendar.

Let me put a twist on the situation…imagine that you are there visiting a resort in North Carolina’s Outer Banks on your summer vacation, right where Arthur is headed. It is not likely that you have brought along much in the way of survival or preparedness kits or items. You might not even have a car! Do you carry the bare minimum essentials to survive if you were caught in this situation? Do you have the knowledge to complete the survival tasks necessary in this situation?

It is a good mental exercise to participate in. What would you do if you found yourself in this situation? It is typically not practical to travel with a dedicated bug out bag which can be cumbersome, not to mention that the type of travel can greatly limit what you can have in your bag. The amount of space needed to carry the bare minimum essentials can easily fit into a small portion of the average suitcase.

There are 10 survival items that I would suggest that you consider carrying with you when you travel include:

  1. First Aid Kit
  2. High Quality Multi-Tool
  3. Flashlight
  4. Chemical Light Stick(s)
  5. Whistle
  6. Emergency Poncho
  7. Paracord (~50 Feet)
  8. Water Bottle (Lexan bottles like Nalgene are durable and can be used to pack other items into.)
  9. Way To Purify Water (Tablets, Straw Filter, Etc.)
  10. Duct Tape (~50 feet wrapped around an old gift card) and Zip Ties
  11. Mylar Survival Blanket
  12. Snack Foods (Jerky, Protein Bars, Nuts, Candy, Etc.)
  13. Lighter
  14. Bandana
  15. Sewing Kit

What would you add to this list?

I would also like to say happy Independence Day! It is my hope that everyone enjoys their day and stays safe while celebrating the freedoms that we enjoy. Don’t forget to keep your thoughts and prayers with those who are dealing with Arthur on the east coast and our military who are serving abroad so that we can have fun at home.

Today is the last day to take advantage of the 4th of July sale over at Black River Outpost. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to save a ton of money on marked down items and FREE shipping on ALL orders!

Happy Birthday America!

Today is Independence Day. Yes, I said Independence Day and not the 4th of July. To me the 4th of July is a day on the calendar. Independence Day is the celebration of America being freed from tyranny at the hands of citizens who committed treason to achieve what they knew was most important, freedom and liberty. Please take today to remember what is most important; freedom, faith, and family. If you believe, pray for our leaders to be guided by the hands of God to make sound decisions and to preserve our liberties and freedoms for future generations to come.
