Monday Mania – 2.29.2016

It is officially the last 29th of February until 2020! I have seen a large number of errors being made when writing the date today. There are a bunch of people who want it to be March already.

There is not much to report for me this week.

I worked, I played, and I got soaked trying to fix the shower. I don’t know what I was thinking but I over tightened the screw that controls the water. When I went to loosen it, I turned the water on and it sprayed all over me. Luckily, I still have pretty good reflexes and I was able to limit the amount of water that covered me. If nothing else, it was good for a laugh.

My oldest son has battled some medical problems for almost a decade now. This week has been pretty good for him. It’s probably the best week he has had in the last year and a half. We have seen great improvement in his personality and demeanor. This is truly a blessing from God. We have struggled to get to this point. I pray that things continue down this path. Your prayers are always appreciated as well.

I hope that y’all have a great week!

20 Steps: The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Prepper – This is not a supply list. These 20 steps are actionable and a great way to establish your emergency preparedness.

101 Frugal Items You Need For Survival – Affordability is a key component to purchasing supplies and gear. I like this list because it is no nonsense and straight to the point.

Thinking of Starting a Prepper Network? Think Again! – An interesting look at the pitfalls of forming a mutual assistance group (MAG) or prepper network. I’m still going to stick with my thoughts that community is the only way to overcome a crisis.

DIY $20 Survival Food Bucket – $20 for a bucket of food? I’m in! There is some good information here about the value of storing real food and how to do so.

How Dependent Are You On Electricity? – Have you ever stopped to really evaluate the number of items that are used on a daily basis and plan what you would do if those items were not available? This article covers many of those every day items and provides some suggestions on how to work around not having a dependable source of electricity.

Practical Preparedness- Simple steps you can take today to prepare your family for whatever may come

Prepper’s Threat Analysis – Establishing Prepping Priorities – Always have a firm grasp on what may come next and what you need to do to be prepared for it.

How This Man Converted “Underground Shelter Using a 20 Ft. Shipping Container”

Atlanta Business Owner Gives All of His Employees a Gun – I personally like this idea but, I could see how (especially in our world today) this could lead to future problems for Mr. Toland. After all, “they made me do something against my beliefs” is a great foundation for a lawsuit these days.

God forbid, the complainant happens to also be LGBTQ or a Muslim. How dare they have to carry a weapon. It’s the religion of peace. (That is not what I was thinking when a Muslim was shooting at us with an AK-47 in the middle east.) It all would just make better fodder for the MSM.

This Is How Government Dealt With Dissent And Revolt In Collapsing Venezuela – “Soldiers Shooting Civilians In The Streets, Paramilitaries Roaming Neighborhoods”

Utilizing 12v DC Systems for Primary or Emergency Power – An interesting perspective on using an alternator as the center of an off grid power system. I can see the advantages but you will still need a motor of some type.

Is Political Correctness Literally Killing Our Society?

Obama Opens the Border to More STDs – This is only part of what scares me about my children’s, and future generations, wellbeing. Even if they escape the atrocities that are overcoming our world, as we continue to accept things (after all, they are treatable), it is only going to increase the rate of occurrence of these diseases.

Mega Retailers Close Stores: Hard to Shop “When People Are Just Trying to Pay Their Mortage” – My expectation is that this is only a preview of what is to come. I recommend taking a look at The Alpha Strategy and making a plan to invest in your future with physical goods as they become harder and harder to obtain in local areas.

Germany Admits They Have Lost Track of 130,000 Refugees – Whether the numbers are accurate or not, this is a legitimate concern. I think that this gives us a preview of what is to come. No one could definitively say where all of the immigrants and visa holders (current and lapsed) are at in the U.S., right?

Zuckerberg’s Virtual Reality Photo: Our Future in the Matrix – This is really not that far fetched. We certainly are headed in a direction where this is probable.

Beware Twitter Users: Your Tweets Help the Government Predict the Future – I would not doubt it.

Monday Mania

My apologies for being AWOL (Absent W/O Leave) for the last two weeks. I got hit with a viral syndrome that took me out for a bit and then I found out that a change in employment circumstances would take the family and I to Texas. If that is not enough, we are moving in only a few weeks. This makes it a little tough to get everything together for a move that will be almost 4,000 miles, across an ocean, with three kids and a dog. At least life is not boring right?

I spent a ton of time last week just trying to wrap up tasks at work that need to be completed before my transition. There is also no shortage when it comes to things that we should go through and determine if it needs to make the move with us. I absolutely hate getting to our new destination to start throwing stuff out that should have never made the trip in the first place.

As far as Texas is concerned, we are all happy to be going but I don’t think that anyone in my family is as happy as I am. With the current political climate that fosters the ideals of all kinds of crap including:

  • Mass illegal immigration that deserves instant protection and endless free stuff at the cost of the few people that are still working.
  • The welfare state.
  • Climate alarmism AKA “change” (used to be warming until that couldn’t be proven exclusively, so in typical political fashion, adjust as necessary until you are right). Of course climate change is real, the climate changes all the time. My question is how do we justify blaming the use of fossil fuels, internal combustion engines, etc. when the climate has changed before, even before we had such things? FYI – I have carbon credits for sale if anyone would like to donate their hard earned money to me. I’ll even email you a certificate!
  • Political correctness to the point where if you are not in a minority group that is composed of 10% of the population or less, you are unsuited for the oxygen in the air.
  • The move to disarm America.

I could go on and on but these are some of the reasons that I am overjoyed to be moving to Texas. It is my opinion that Texas is the best place to be right now to ride out this storm of absolute cow poop that seems to be everywhere in America. With that said…

I hope that y’all have a great week!

I would like to start off by expressing a huge thank you to Brian N. for his generous donation this week via PayPal. The internet is loaded with great information about survival, preparedness, homesteading, security, self-reliance, and literally just about anything you could possibly think of. I feel that it is important to share anything that could be valuable to all of us. Here are a few things that I found this last week:

SR’s [Steve Reichert] Handgun Caliber Choice and Why – For those of you who are not familiar with Steve, he is a medically retired Marine who after taking an IED blast in Iraq has moved on to be a big part of the firearms training world. In this article Steve uses his knowledge and expertise to outline his handgun caliber of choice and why that is a good choice.

Prepping on the Sly – This is a great article for those of us who have a spouse or significant other who think we are crazy for being concerned with preparedness. It is also a valuable resource for those who might be looking for a good place to get started with the survival and self-reliance lifestyle but are overwhelmed with how to get there.

The 25 Points of Hitler’s Nazi Party – This link was sent to me by a good friend and reveals what was essentially the outline of the core beliefs of the Hitler’s Nazi party. What resonates with me is how similar some of the Nazi party’s beliefs are to those of America’s current politicians and government officials. See if this sounds familiar:

10. The first duty of every citizen must be to work mentally or physically. No individual shall do any work that offends against the interest of the community to the benefit of all.

We can’t have anyone being offended now, can we? Of course, we would never do anything like force a sports team to change their name because of the perception of offense. Not in the United States anyway….right?

Self-Igniting Fire Starter – This is a great DIY on how to make your own fire starters that are not only self-starting, but if made properly will be waterproof as well. I like the concept and further appreciate the fact that they are simple to make. On a side note, one of the key elements to making these fire starters are strike anywhere matches which are becoming very close to impossible to find. If you are out and about and happen to notice these matches for sale anywhere, I would encourage you to stock up for you and your loved ones.

This wraps up my best finds of survival related gems around the web last week. I hope everyone has a blessed week and continues to prepare for any difficult times ahead.

What did you find last week that everyone could benefit from?

The Clock Is Ticking…

Tomorrow is the last day of the month and that signals the conclusion of the offer for a free month of training from Pulse O2DA Firearms Training. As an Army combat veteran and someone who has an extensive amount of firearms experience, I sometimes fall into the mental trap of thinking I know everything I need to know about carrying and using a firearm. Obviously this is not true and it is a fact that has been driven home as I have watched the training videos and reviewed pages of materials in the Pulse O2DA Training Armory over the course of the last month.

In addition to expanding my knowledge of firearms techniques and employment, I truly appreciate the Armory for how the materials are easy to understand and are broken down into bite sized pieces. This keeps me from feeling like I am choking on massive amounts of training that I cannot fully grasp all at once. If you haven’t gotten a chance to check out the programs at Pulse O2DA Firearms Training, take the time to click here and sign-up for The Prepared Ninja Pulse O2DA Armory complimentary one month membership. If you have checked out the Armory and didn’t sign up, consider checking out a free month and get some of the best handgun, shotgun, rifle, and warfighter training available on the web.

*Once you follow the link, click register and select the Prepared Ninja option to get your free month.

Special Training Opportunity For Prepared Ninja Readers!

There are a few things that are paramount to being prepared for the difficulties that we may face. Most of the areas of focus for a prepper revolve around logistics (supplies, transportation, shelter, etc.) and knowledge (skills, training, reference material, etc.). I feel that while having the tools to perform in a survival situation is paramount, having the knowledge to deploy the tools effectively is an even greater priority. Today I am excited to introduce a training opportunity to you that is unlike any other training program I have ever seen before!
Before I get into the details though, there is a short story behind this opportunity that I need to tell you about first.
Several weeks back I was approached by the guys at Pulse O2DA Firearms Training, Inc. about collaborating on a firearms training initiative. Pulse O2DA provides combative firearms training, and they have developed a training ladder that moves a citizen through three stages of skill development; developing basic firearms skills, applying these skills to individual maneuver for the purpose of self-defense and then expanding individual maneuver to deployment in small units for the defense of a business, school or small community. They approached The Prepared Ninja because of the make-up of our membership, and the clear benefit that such a training program has for preppers and self-reliant individuals. There is also great potential among our community to develop a powerful force to help combat the tyrannical forces destroying our beloved Republic.
Pulse O2DA offers a full slate of combative firearms training courses, programs, and resources for individuals, schools, business and communities. The jewel in all of their offerings is called the Pulse O2DA Armory, a subscription-based online firearms training resource.  The Pulse O2DA Armory is a total immersion training resource providing:
  1. More than 900 pages of information, 45 videos and 400 photos, a detailed 5-day kickstart training plan, and a 12 month training and dry-practice regimen for handgun, shotgun, and rifle.
  2. Instruction on basic weapon fundamentals like stance and grip, loading and unloading, draw, malfunction clearances, etc.
  3. The strategy and tactics necessary to dominate a lethal force confrontation.
  4. The resources to defend yourself, your family, your business and your community.
  5. Deep interactive resource library on maneuver warfare and small unit tactics.

Over the past couple of weeks I have had the chance to spend some time with the guys at Pulse O2DA. Through a series of teleconference calls and a meeting, I have had the chance to review the Pulse O2DA Armory in detail. It is the most comprehensive, chronological, and clearly defined firearms training program that I have seen. I believe the Pulse O2DA Armory is an awesome resource and am recommending it because:

  • It provides a great training resource you can use to hone your own skills and pass along to others in your community.
  • It delivers a standardized curriculum that we all can draw upon.
  • It goes beyond the basic NRA/Appleseed offerings with its focus on combatives and dominating a lethal force confrontation.
  • The training ladder methodically moves a gun novice from basic 3-gun fundamentals up to being a competent defender of his family, business, and community.

So here is our special training opportunity – all Prepared Ninja readers are eligible for a free one month subscription to the Pulse O2DA Armory! After the free month you can continue with your subscription by paying $14.95 per month. One of the additional benefits of this subscription to The Prepared Ninja community is that a percentage of each subscription fee will go towards the work that I am doing here on the site and supporting the work of The Prepared Ninja community.

To give you an idea of the value that you receive by being a Pulse O2DA subscriber, the annual cost of this membership is less than only one day of firearms training at most firearms training programs. The knowledge and understanding that you gain of firearms use and theory will far exceed that of one day of training at any school.
This opportunity is available through the month of February 2014, after which the free month disappears but you can still join by paying the $14.95 up-front for the first month. To claim your free gift follow these instructions:
2. The above link will take you to the Pulse O2DA preview page. Click on the red box link that says “Click Here To Join”.
3. You will now be on the membership sign-up page. Select the Prepared Ninja membership plan.
4. Provide your name, email address, username, and password on the subscription page.
5. Provide your credit card billing information. Your card will not be charged for the first month. Remember if you decide to stay after the first month, 50% of your subscription fee goes to Oath Keepers. You can cancel before the end of the first month and not be charged anything.
6. Last step is to look in your email (look in your spam folder too) for the confirmation email and click to confirm. Then enter your Pulse O2DA Armory credentials in the membership box on the Pulse O2DA Firearms homepage (www.pulsefirearmstraining.com) and you will be admitted in.
Thanks for your support and if you have any problems getting in you can call the Pulse guys directly at 1.877.452.0951.
Don’t miss out on this awesome opportunity to be more prepared to safeguard ourselves, our families, and our community!
